‘How to Train Your Dragon 3’ Release Date, Plot: Set For June 2018 Release, Hiccup, Toothless Explore As Grown-ups?

With its release date confirmed, fans of "How to Train Your Dragon 3" just can't help but keep buzzing about their excitement over what's in store for Hiccup and the gang.

Cate Blanchett, the voice behind Vlanka in the previous installment, revealed some thrilling details about the film series.

Asked about the storyline of the next installment, she said: "I am really excited. I don't know what it's going to be, but Dean has such an extraordinary imagination. And he directed in such a detailed, engaged way--he holds a firm grip on the universe."

In a separate statement, Director Dean DeBlois explained that "How to Train Your Dragon 3" will feature the height of Hiccup's coming of age. He disclosed that the sequel will see Toothless and Hiccup go on with their lives as grown-ups, both being chiefs of their respective tribes. It will also explore Hiccup's adventures as he skates through adulthood.

"It's a dueling story where you have both characters trying to do what's right for their kind and an eventual outcome where Hiccup is able to stand on his own. We're gonna take the story to where the books begin, which is Hiccup as an adult reflecting back on a time where there were dragons, suggesting that the dragons will in some way go away. Why and could they come back and the mystery of what all that is will be saved for the actual story," he shared.

Several spoilers of "How to Train Your Dragon 3" also suggest that a fracas between Hiccup and Toothless becomes imminent as each of them makes critical decisions for their own tribes.

The conflict was foreshadowed during the Human versus Dragons War, where the narrator tipped off that an incident would lead to the separation of Dragons and Humans.

From its original schedule of June 17, 2018, "How to Train Your Dragon 3" release date has been moved to June 29, 2018.
