'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 3 Cast News: 'Dexter' Alum Lauren Velez Joins Cast As Middleton University President
The worlds of "Dexter" and "How to Get Away with Murder" will collide as "Dexter" alum Lauren Luna Velez joins the cast of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3.
Velez will play the role of the president of Middleton University, the university where Annalise Keating works as a professor. While details about her character remain unknown, fans speculate that her character is going to be affable, diplomatic and intellectual.
This is the second time that Velez will portray the role of a woman in authority. In 1995, she played the role of a female detector named Nina Moreno in the TV series "New York Undercover." Among her other notable roles in the past were Maria La Guerta in "Dexter," Dr. Gloria Nathan in "Oz," and Elena in "Ugly Betty."
There are speculations that although her character in the upcoming series is going to be friendly, she is going to be at odds with Annalise. Her casting is so far the second casting update of the series. Just recently, Conrad Ricamora was confirmed to join the cast of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 as Oliver Hampton, a techy and clever person. In season 1, his character was introduced as a guest star, and in season 2, he appeared in more scenes. He will be a regular member of the season 3 cast.
The season 2 finale left a cliffhanger when Wes learned that Wallace was his father, but their reunion ended up in a tragedy when an unidentified killer shot Wallace in the head right in front of Wes. It is believed that the killer will be revealed immediately in the first episode of season 3.
"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 airs on September 22, 10:00 P.M. on ABC.
