Houston Rockets News, Rumors 2014: NBA Franchise Prevails Despite Bad Luck with Player Injuries
Even though Coach Kevin McHale of the Houston Rockets has been paving the way for this team to win more and more games and championships, they've had back luck with all the injuries lately.
Despite that, the Rockets pulled out a win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday night. We could see that the team is gathering up a little bit more depth and really learning how to work together despite some of their key starters being benched due to injuries.
Dwight Howard who averages about 20 points a game is out, along with Patrick Beverley who averages about 13 points per game, and Terrence Jones who gets in about 14 points a game.
Evidently, players like James Harden are really stepping up their game now. He had 21 points during the game on Wednesday and the five starting players were all in double digits. Reserve players like Tarik Black and Donatas Motiejunas have really stepped up too.
Coach McHale was incredibly impressed with how the Rockets handled the Grizzlies defense. They have one of the best defenses in the league right now and the fact that the Rockets really showed them just how great they can play, speak volumes.
Dwight Howard is still going day to day to see if he will be able to start again and Jones has yet to recover from the nerve damage in his leg. When these players are all healed up and ready, the Rockets will be executing terrific basketball once again.
