'House of Cards' Season 5 Release Date, Rumors, News: Frank Underwood Set To Deal With Political Obstacles?

It has been a while since the announcement that political series "House of Cards" will be renewed for a 5th season, but anticipation of viewers for the upcoming installation is still taking over.

While some viewers are still catching up on season 4 on Netflix, some details about season 5 have already been revealed.

In an interview, actor Michael Kelly talked about his character Doug Stamper, who is part of Frank's inner circle.  He said getting the role of Doug in the series is one of the best things that happened to him as an actor.

"Here's a total gem: I get to play this guy and say these words. To know that I love going to work every day... after four years! It's the greatest job I've ever had," he said.

He also went on to defend Doug, saying he is not really a bad guy. "He's a complicated guy with serious addiction issues," he said.

In other news, actor Joel Kinnaman confirmed in a recent interview that he had signed on for the upcoming season as well. Aside from him, there are also speculations that Neve Campbell will be back to provide a conclusion for his storyline, which was left hanging in season 4.

News Everyday recently reported that "House of Cards" season 5 will feature a range of political hurdles that would test the fortitude of Frank Underwood's presidency and threaten his political chances altogether. The character played by Joel Kinnaman, Will Conway, will allegedly carry out a strategy to leave the President powerless and stripped of his legacy once he steps down.
