'House Of Cards' Season 5 News: Season 5 Cancelled Due To Series Creator Beau Willimon's Exit?

Following "House of Cards" showrunner Beau Willimon's exit from the series last year, rumors about the cancellation of the series have begun to surface. According to reports, the creative team behind the popular political drama has struggled to come up with interesting ideas for season 5 since Willimon's exit, hence the decision to cancel the show.

It may be recalled that sometime in 2015, the former "House of Cards" creator, executive producer and screenwriter tendered his resignation from the Netflix series due to alleged internal creative disputes.

The first four seasons of the series garnered positive reviews from viewers and earned several Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Since its debut season, fans of the series have attributed the success of the show to Willimon. However, fans got a little worried about the future of the series when Netflix confirmed recently that the series creator would exit the series after season 4.

According to Willimon, the fate of "House of Cards" lies after the end of each season. With his exit, the creative direction of the show has already been passed onto its new set of writers, executive producers and director. Currently, the series is being executively produced by Melissa James Gibson and Mark Pugliese.

There are also speculations that the storyline of the new season is obsolete and uninteresting, giving a reason for Netflix to cancel the show. However, the streaming giant has yet to confirm these rumors.

Meanwhile, Willimon has recently started the Action Group Network, a political movement aimed at opposing the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States.
