'House of Cards' Season 4 Spoilers, Rumors: What Really Happens to Frank and Claire's Relationship?

Season 3 of Netflix's original series, House of Cards has just been released, but production for Season 4 is already set to begin.

On Monday night, at a Season 3 screening event, which took place at the TV Academy in Los Angeles, Beau Willimon, the show's creator, talked about what the new season would have in store for Frank and Clair Underwood.

He also addressed one of the biggest questions that arose after the latest episodes of the show, which is whether or not Claire will really leave Frank.

In Season 3's finale episode, Claire told her husband, Frank that she would be moving out of the White House and leaving him after she had a stressful time with the upcoming election and Russian negotiations.

Willimon says that he wants fans to be left in suspense about Claire.

He says that everyone knows she is leaving, because she said she was. However, whether or not the relationship is actually over, is the thing that he wants viewers to think about until the next season of the show is released.

Willimon said, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, that he knew that it was hard on viewers to watch one of their favorite TV unions about to fall apart, but that the writers made the best decision.

"A lot of the strength on the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back," said Willimon.

He also said that the team realized that the conflict between Frank and Claire was inevitable, as the foundation for it had been laid in seasons one and two.
