‘House of Cards’ Season 4 Spoilers, Cast News: Colm Feore, Neve Campbell Join Netflix Political Drama
While 'House of Cards' Season 4 will be returning to the small screen only in 2016, fans of this American political drama television series on Netflix are already receiving various reports regarding the show's upcoming season. Latest reports say that Colm Feore, who has also been signed for roles in 'Thor' and 'The Chronicles of Riddick,' will be seen opposite Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright in the next season of the award-winning TV series.
According to IB Times, Deadline was the first to announce the exciting news. The publication confirmed that Feore will assume the recurring role of a "high-profile" character in the fourth installment of 'House of Cards.' Now, it remains to be seen whether or not Frank (Spacey) and Feore's character will clash in the forthcoming season. Apparently, it is safe to say that the President of the United States will have a difficult time getting along with other major political figures.
In June, TVLine revealed that the Underwoods would be confronting a new rival in the upcoming episodes. Will the character Feore will be playing be their main foe in 'House of Cards' Season 4? While this appears to be a credible storyline, the show creators have teased that the new enemy of the couple would be a younger version of Frank, who happens to sport a British accent.
However, Feore is not the only one actor who will be joining the cast in the new season. According to Entertainment Weekly, 'Scream' star Neve Campbell had been cast in 'House of Cards' Season 4. The actress is supposedly already filming for the new season of the nail-biting series.
While the show creators are keeping Campbell's role under wraps, Deadline recently teased that the actress would portray the romantic partner of the villainous Brit, who will be shaking things up for the Underwoods further.
According to the show runner, the couple will not only face new opponents, but Frank and Claire's marriage will also continue to worsen in Season 4.
Show creator Beau Willimon told The Hollywood Reporter after the end of 'House of Cards' Season 3, "A lot of the strength of the show is based on the strength of that marriage. But as soon as we began to explore that, we realized there was no turning back." Willimon added, "We also realized we'd laid the groundwork in the previous two seasons for this conflict between Francis and Claire, and the more we began exploring it, the more inevitable it became. And the more exciting it was for us to travel that emotional terrain."
Netflix renewed 'House of Cards' for a Season 4 in April 2015 and the new season is set to premiere in 2016.
