'House of Cards' Season 3 Episode 11 Recap: 'Every Seven Years' Showcases Frank's CNN Debate
Titled "Every Seven Years," Episode 11 of 'House of Cards' Season 3 followed Frank's latest CNN debate and Claire's struggle to keep up with appearances as she and Frank push further away from each other.
Claire is making more public appearances and goes to a fund raiser where she defends her husband, saying that she would vote for him.
After that, the next scene cuts to Frank. Up next on the campaign is a debate with Jackie as her so called "pit bull." The two plan to strategize how they will crush their opponent, Heather Dunbar. Jackie is unsure about Frank's method of criticizing Heather's choice to send her kids to private school as she has step kids in private school too. Frank assured her that nothing would go wrong, so long as she continued to criticize Heather throughout the entire debate.
The debate starts and Jackie follows through with her promise, putting Heather in a bad light. Once the private school issue arrives and Jackie calls out Heather, Frank shockingly then calls out Jackie for the same thing. Jackie can't believe that Frank double crossed her. Later on in the show, Jackie is seen supporting Heather in her candidacy. Frank and his right hand man Remy watch the announcement, and Remy resigns.
Doug is watching the debate feed when he gets a mysterious call. It's Gavin and he says that Rachel isn't dead. He will give Doug more details if and when he springs his friend from prison.
Claire is seen at a blood drive, donating. Yates asks why she is doing all this and she tells him every seven years she evaluates hers and Frank's marriage. "What I hate is how much I need us," she says right before passing out in the donation chair.
The final scene shows Claire and Frank somewhat reuniting but it's unclear if the two will ever have that spark they used to have again.
'House of Cards' Season 3 is available with all the episodes via stream on Netflix.
