Carrie Mathison and Peter Quinn's fate is rumored to be the core of "Homeland" season 6, as per recent spoilers.

According to Movie News Guide, Mathison and Quinn's future is set to be the content of "Homeland" season 6. Many people believed that Quinn died in "Homeland's" fifth season, but no one actually wanted him to depart from the show, as per the publication. In fact, putting Quinn's life in danger while shrouding Mathison's moves in mist allowed the audience to turn their necks to the show once again.

Reports revealed that Quinn's fate was just part of Mathison's thoughts and is not real. As per Movie News Guide, Quinn was the only one holding Mathison at her best and worst, so dropping him from the show would be a major downfall for "Homeland."

"Homeland" season 5 finale is entitled "A False Glimmer" and it reportedly made fans have a false prediction on Mathison and Quinn's future. Fans were reportedly intrigued when they saw Quinn and Mathison in the hospital, following a silent and mediocre story arc.

It is expected that "Homeland" season 6 would present another kind of story when it returns to the small screen. In his interview with Vulture, Showtime head David Nevins said that "Homeland" had a long ride to cover before thinking of wrapping up. He also mentioned that the show was slightly different from others as it was able to tell a new story every year, adding that it was able to renew itself every season by just telling a story about a different part of the world.

"Homeland" season 6 is expected to air on Oct. 2.
