'Homeland' Season 5 Spoilers: Two Year Time Jump to Change Character Relationships
The fifth season of Homeland, the hit Showtime drama, will be airing in September, and fans cannot wait to watch it. It has already been announced that the new season will feature a big time jump, but it is now being released that the time jump may reveal some changed relationships for the stars of the show.
Executive Producer of the show, Alex Gansa, confirmed that season 5 will take place overseas, and will also jump ahead two and a half years.
According to Gansa, the change in setting will show that Carrie is no longer a high profile Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer. Although Carrie will be leaving the CIA, she may not be going back to a relationship with Peter, with whom she used to work, and almost slept with.
According to TV Line, Gansa said his writers are at odds on how to handle Carrie and Quinn's storyline moving forward, specifically, "how much of the connection between Carrie and Quinn is actually romantic [versus] operational."
When she decided to reach out to him following his proposal -- probably in an attempt to have him give her a second chance -- she learned he had already fled to Syria and/or Iraq and rejoined the CIA, reports International Business Times.
Gansa states that his writers cannot agree on how to move Carrie and Quinn's storyline forward, particularly when it comes to deciding how much of their connection is romantic and how much of it is just functional.
Gansa says that writes struggle with how much of it is the desire for them to both move past he jobs he does.
'Homeland' Season 5 will film in Germany, and is currently is rumored to begin shooting in May.
