'Homeland' Season 5 Spoilers: Carrie Mathison Faces Major Changes in Her Life
The fifth season of Homeland will be bringing some exciting changes for its viewers.
According to reports from Entertainment Weekly, there will be four new characters added to the popular Showtime political drama. Carrie Mathison, who is played by Claire Danes, will have a new love interest named Jonas Happich.
He will be played by Alexander Fehling, and will serve as the legal counsel of During Foundation, which will be owned by another new character, named Otto During, who is a philanthropist, played by Sebastian Koch.
During Foundation is the private security firm that Carrie will be working for when we catch up to her in season five, now that she has exiled herself from the CIA.
Season 5 will also include Laura Sutton, who will be portraying Sarah Sokolovic, who is an American journalist who also works for the During Foundation.
Miranda Otto will play Allison Carr, who is the current Chief of Station in Berlin beginning in season five. Carr is working directly under Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin).
The official plot synopsis of the upcoming season says, "Season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison's ill fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the war on terror. Carrie finds herself in a self imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working for a private security firm."
The addition of a new love interest for Carrie means that things are not going to continue between her and Quinn, but this is not shocking as writers have been struggling to navigate the couple's story line.
