‘Homeland’ Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers: Carrie Mathison Moves Abroad, New Love Affair Coming

Carrie Mathison takes on a whole new journey as a mother and a CIA Station Chief in Pakistan and Afghanistan when 'Homeland' returns for its fourth season this Fall. Creator Alex Gansa told TV Guide that the overarching theme of the upcoming season revolves around the "private and public costs of keeping America safe."

It is clear from Nicholas Brody's death that Claire Danes' character will face a darker future. However, the 35-year-old actress told TV Line that there is a possibility for a romance with Peter Quinn, who is vital to shaping Carrie's future.

"Quinn is eager to get out of the business and is recognizing behavior in Carrie that he himself has had in the past as an assassin, and he's concerned for her," Danes discussed, "So he trying to jar her into 'consciousness,' but she's reluctant to engage."

On the other hand, Mandy Patinkin (Saul Berenson) talked about 'Homeland' in relation to today's society, "Our job, if we are doing it right, is to be the poets for the broken world we are living in," he told Variety, "What a poet's job, in my opinion, is to literally bring some light, hope and optimism to the darkness."

Casts include Rupert Friend, Mandy Patinkin, Tracy Letts, Nazanin Boniadi and Laila Robins while Morena Baccarin is not reprising her role as Jessica Brody.

'Homeland' has won various awards such as Best Television Series (Drama) and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series at the Golden Globe Awards; 2012 Peabody Award; and Writers Guild of America Award for Television New Series among many others.

'Homeland' Season 4 premieres on October 5, 9 PM on Showtime.
