‘Homeland’ Season 4 Plot Spoilers, Changes: No More Romance Twists, Series Sinks into Conspiracy, Terrorism, Nation Security Storyline
During 'Homeland' seasons two and three, the story revolved around the romantic aspect of Carrie's relationship with Brody, which made all the other plot developments lackluster. However, with the show's recent Season 4 two-hour premiere, the series seems to have recovered its backbone.
According to Boston Globe, the show was taking "sillier turns" in Seasons 2 and 3, and made fans "numb with disappointment."
However, loyal fans of 'Homeland' gave the show another chance for a comeback and fortunately, they were not disappointed this time around. Finally, the writers and producers have found a new way to present the show in a more intelligent sort of way.
The new season offers fresh faces, but there are still veteran characters who are going to be stable on the show. Saul, Carrie and Peter Quinn are back, and then, there is Sandy Bachman, CIA Chief in Islamabad, played by Corey Stoll.
Also, Suraj Sharma, a Pakistani med student will appear with Laila Robins and Raza Jaffrey who will also be featured on the show.
Aside from the new places, the new locations show promise. During the first seasons of 'Homeland', most of the shots were done in the U.S. But, with the new episode, there are locations like Kabul, Islamabad, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
They also promised more action and less romance in this new season. While the past two season introduced lovey-dovey twists, this time, they are focusing on the matter at hand: conspiracy, terrorism and national security.
The next episode of 'Homeland', entitled "Trylon and Perisphere," will air on Oct. 5.
