'Homeland' Season 4, Episode 8 Recap: Saul Experiences Heartbreak while Carrie Trusts the Traitor
The latest episodes of 'Homeland' Season 4 have been adding unique plot twists to the series, and the recently aired Episode 8 entitled "Halfway to Donut" was no exception. Evidently, 'Homeland' has once again hit its mark by providing a thrilling cocktail of developments by using unique elements like Carrie's mental state and the show's exciting espionage.
This week, the show opened with Carrie mourning her hallucinogenic re-union with Brody and waking up in Aasar Khan's guest room, and it appears that he was not tampering with Carrie's medication. Carrie, on the other hand, takes a moment to straighten herself and moves back to the embassy with her trusted friends Quinn and Lockhart.
However, Lockhart does not rise up to Carrie's expectations as she begs Lockhart not to disclose the incident to anyone. Lockhart, on the other hand, informs Ambassador Boyd promptly, because he values transparency.
Also, Boyd, while having a pastry, which he describes as "halfway to a donut," transfers the newly acquitted information to his spouse.
Meanwhile the embassy has been trying hard to spring Saul, but made no progress. Saul, via a stolen cell phone, speaks with Carrie. She finds about Saul's situation, summons Quinn, and tracks Saul's location to a nearby town from where could be extracted.
Hours later, ISI and CIA are seen discussing the "Saul situation" and Saul is on his way to the extraction point. Â However, Saul's absence has been noticed in Islamabad, and adequate steps have been taken for that.
Carrie, who does not have the heart to tell Saul the truth, tells him that the rendezvous point has been shifted and as Saul is captured by the enemy, the only words that escapes him is a curse for Carrie. The episode ends with Lockhart saying "Tell Haqqani we'll meet his demands."
