'Homeland' Season 4 Episode 10 Spoilers, New Cast: Victoria Clark to Appear as Carrie’s Mother

When 'Homeland' resumes airing Season 4 on Dec. 7 with Episode 10 entitled "13 hours in Islamabad," fans of this popular political thriller television series on Showtime will find the U.S. embassy in Islamabad somewhat on lock down. In addition, they will see a new character - Carrie Mathison's mother played by Broadway actress Victoria Clark.

In the previous episode of 'Homeland', viewers saw that the lives of Carrie (Claire Danes) and her former boss Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) were endangered following a major explosion that took place while they were engaged in a prisoner exchange deal with the terrorists. At the end of the episode, there was a major cliffhanger - now viewers will be keenly waiting to if they survived the attack.

However, what is clear is that Carrie is keen to return home at the earliest. Now it remains to be seen whether she really goes back home and if her mother will be waiting for her in the United States.

Christian Today reports that though Victoria Clark will be portraying the role of Carrie's mother, the producers are yet to confirm the precise episode when she will make her appearance in the hit political television drama. They have just disclosed that Clark will play an important role as the mother of the CIA officer - Carrie, in 'Homeland' Season 4.

It is worth mentioning here that Clark has received multiple awards for her stellar performances and is noted for her performance in the hit Broadway musical 'The Light in the Piazza' directed by Craig Lucas.

She was also nominated for various roles in other stage shows, including 'Sister Act', and the popular play 'Follies', which was revived in Los Angeles. Clark's notable performances also include 'The Snow Geese' and Rodgers & Hammerstein's 'Cinderella'.

Apart from appearing in 'Homeland', Clark will continue performing on Broadway. Clark will soon be seen in 'GIGI', where she will be working with Vanessa Hudgens.
