Hillary Duff, who got separated from her husband Mike Comrie in January, last year, has officially filed for a divorce.

At the time, a representative for Duff confirmed the split saying "They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time," according to Huffington Post.

The couple married for about three years are said to have parted on amicable terms without any public spat, according to US Magazine. The couple has a 3-year-old named, Luca.

According to TMZ, the couple was going through irreconcilable differences and hired popular celebrity attorney Laura Wasser to settle the divorce case. Also, according to the website, Duff has asked for the primary custody of their son, Luca.

This news comes right in after her husband, the NHL hockey player, was allegedly seen propositioning women at an exclusive Beverly Hills restaurant, according to the Daily Mail.

According to various reports, Comrie made quite a ruckus at the restaurant in Beverly Hills. He had allegedly started hitting on a woman at a bar right in front of her date. The restaurant, in order to curb further embarrassment and nuisance, called security to escort him outside and into a taxi after he asked the woman's date to step outside, according to US Weekly.

However, Duff is seen spending time with her son, as she was spotted in Los Angeles, recently, hanging out with her son.
