'Heroes Reborn': Not To Be Renewed for Season 2?

It might be a bit of a bad news for "Heroes" fans as "Heroes Reborn" will not be renewed for a season two by the network.

NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told TCA that the revival series will have only until the 13th episode of the current season to wrap it all up according to Design and Trend.

Greenblatt said that the initial plan is really just one season and unless creator Tim Kring decides to come up with a brand new story to tell, then the decision stays as is.

"I think we're coming to the end of the world, maybe. Stay tuned. As far as I know, there are no more incarnations of 'Heroes' coming," Greenblatt added.

The show didn't get much success after just getting 6.1 million total viewers and a 2.0 demo rating on its season premiere and even lower numbers of 3.7 million and a 1.0 demo rating on its mid-season premiere.

Deadline got a chance to interview Kring and here's what the creator could say about the series:

"The 'Heroes' universe is a very big premise, and 'Heroes' has always been able to reinvent itself and repopulate itself with new characters and new stories," he discussed. "We, on the original series, often told stores in volumes as it would have a beginning, and a middle, and an end, and so, in a sense, the real hardcore 'Heroes' audience is already somewhat familiar with the idea of these smaller, contained stories."

He also added that in case they are asked to do another story, they strongly believe that they can come up with a new one without leaving any questions from the previous story unanswered.

Their next episode entitled, "Company Woman," will air on Thursday, January 14 at 8 p.m. only on NBC.
