'Batman v Superman' Movie Rumors, Cast News: Lead Actor Henry Cavill Slams Two Film Rumor
The recent 'Batman V Superman' split movie rumors have officially been shut down by Superman actor, Henry Cavill.
Much speculation came about when an anonymous tipster released a convincing picture of an alleged, "leaked trailer" featuring two release dates for two separate movies, with 'Part 1: Enter the Knight' arriving on October 23, 2015 and 'Part 2: Dawn of Justice' on March 25, 2016.
At a Bafta event this weekend, the actor took it upon himself to put all the rumors to rest. He also addressed some other details on the movie and how production was coming along, while seemingly dodging a question posed to him asking if 'Batman V Superman' will be better than the 'Avengers'.
Ramin Setoodeh, a New York Film Editor for Variety, tweeted Cavill's responses:
"Henry Cavill says 'Batman v Superman' won't be split into two movies. ?#BAFTATea"
"Henry Cavill says he wasn't injured fighting Ben Affleck's Batman. 'Are you kidding? I'm the Man of Steel'. ?#BAFTATea"
"Henry Cavill says Affleck is a 'great' Batman. ?#BAFTATea"
"When asked if 'Batman V Superman' would be better than the 'Avengers', Henry Cavill replied: 'You'll see'. ?#BAFTATea"
These statements should officially put the idea of two movies to rest. Despite most Hollywood productions following the trend, Warner Bros. may not find it to be a lucrative move as it is still unknown how well the movie will actually do.
According to BadA**Digest, who claims to have familiarity with the script, the split movie wouldn't work.
"If they were to cut it in half, I guess they could cut it at the big Superman and Batman fight, which comes about halfway through the film. But that fight isn't huge, and there isn't enough action in the first half of the movie to make that a whole film all its own. And then there's so much action in the second half as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman battle Doomsday in Metropolis and Gotham that you'd end up with two very, very lopsided movies."
