'Hearthstone' Goblins vs Gnomes New Cards: All 120 Upcoming Minions, Spells, Secrets, & Weapons Release on Dec. 8
'Hearthstone' players all over the world are anxiously awaiting the upcoming new cards set to be released into Blizzard's popular online card game. The Goblins vs Gnomes cards will be available to players next week on December 8.
Gamers can recall that the new Goblins vs Gnomes update was announced during the recently concluded BlizzCon 2014, and players have since been looking to find out what they can expect.
According to an official post by Blizzard on Battle.net, "Goblins vs Gnomes adds over 120 new cards to craft, win, or purchase, all featuring the manic mayhem of Azeroth's most mischievous machinists meeting mind to mind, mech to mech, and tech to tech."
However, some of the cards in the new collection have effects that summon other cards, so evidently there's going to be more than 120 new minions, spells, secrets, and weapons after all.
For the full extensive list of new cards that are set to be released into the world of 'Hearthstone', check out the game's official Facebook page.
Stepping back, 'Hearthstone' gamers can recall the last expansion that brought about new cards, 'Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas'.
In that expansion, players were prompted to buy some single player content that would eventually lead to the acquisition of new cards once they cleared the boss fights.
On a side note, players were allowed to spend the gold that they earn within the game instead of actual money, however, they needed a good amount to unlock all of the new cards in that expansion.
This time around Goblins vs Gnomes will not come with any single players content, but instead just implement the cards in the form of new packs.
The official press release shines some light on how players will be able the get the new Goblins vs Gnomes cards set to be added to the game's already extensive library.
The post reads, "Goblins vs Gnomes cards can be purchased as packs, crafted with dust, or earned in the Arena. Goblins vs Gnomes card packs will work just like the classic card packs that you already know, but they'll have an explosive new wrapper, and contain all new cards!"
While 'Hearthstone' is a relatively new Blizzard game (released March 11, 2014), it has already build up a strong gamer base and viewership following. This is evident by the fact that it's listed fourth on the list of popular games to watch online streamers play on live streaming giant Twitch.tv.
Twitch.tv is just one way for 'Hearthstone' players to achieve fame and gain a following that supports them as they quest for the Hearthstone World Championships. Examples of this can be seen in popular streamers such as Reynad and Kripparrian as well as in underdogs and small time streamers like Rezakoman and Overstim.
On a side note, 'Hearthstone' professional player, Firebat, became the first Hearthstone World Champion, after defeating Tiddler Celestial in the finals to claim $100,000 in prize money, on November 8th, 2014.
