‘Hart of Dixie’ Season 4 Premiere Date, News: Fans Worry About Series Cancelation
The CW's 'Hart of Dixie' series is set to debut its fourth season on Monday and, with only 10 episodes set to air, fans are wondering if this will be the show's final season.
'Hart of Dixie' has been going strong with 22 episodes in its previous seasons, so fans were surprised to note that The CW has only scheduled the Southern romcom for 10 episodes and moved the show to a Friday night timeslot.
Rumors are circulating that The CW is easing the fans in before officially ending the show's run, and even 'Hart of Dixie' executive producer Lisa Gerstein had little news to share.
"The decision to renew or cancel is out of my hands," she said, "This is a short story, obviously, as it's only 10 episodes, but they are jam-packed with story."
Gerstein said the 10 episodes are just enough for the story she and the writers want to share and said she felt that the fans will love the season. She also said that the fans will see all the love triangles be restored and the central questions finally be answered, and there will be "a lot of closure" this season.
"No one is going to feel unsatisfied by the end," Gerstein said.
Another thing that has fans worried is the news that actors Wilson Bethel and Scott Porter, who play Wade and George on the show respectively, seemed to be posting goodbye messages to fans on their social media accounts.
Neither actor has stated anything about the show being canceled, but with the lack of confirmation by The CW, as well as news coming in that the show's ratings did not do as well as expected last year, things do not seem to be going well for the show.
It remains to be seen what The CW has planned, but for the meantime viewers and fans can watch 'Hart of Dixie' when it debuts its fourth season.
'Hart of Dixie' will air Monday at 8 pm on The CW, before moving to a new time slot on Fridays evenings starting Jan. 9 at 8 pm
