'Harry Potter' Spin Off Plot Spoilers: J.K. Rowling Teases American Wizarding with American Natives
Although J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series has been extremely popular among the U.S. readers as well as movie goers, so far, it has been cautious to avoid exposing any additional information regarding the wizarding culture in America. However, the famed author has now said that all this would change with the release of the forthcoming movie 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.'
According to IB Times, Rowling recently took to her Twitter handle to tease about the upcoming movie. CinemaBlend says that earlier the author revealed some important plot details regarding the setting of the movie in New York. Now, Rowling permitted the fans to make a few targeted questions to get her with a view to acknowledge the presence of an American school of witchcraft and wizardry.
It appears that the main character in the movie named Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) will introduce the 'Harry Potter' universe to the U.S. for the first time in the history of the franchise with a view to collect research data on the most unbelievable creatures of the wizarding world. The movie is set in the 1920s, some seven decades prior to the events in the original 'Harry Potter' saga, Newt will proceed to America. Rowling has revealed that he actually won't visit the American school, since it is not situated in New York. Instead, Newt will only meet people who were educated there.
Earlier, Variety reported that 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' will feature four American characters - two boys and two girls, which have led many to assume that when Scamander visits New York, they will be the American wizards trained at the mysterious school. As far as the school's name is concerned, Rowling declined to reveal much. Nevertheless, when a fan pressed to know if the school had any origins in the Native American culture, the author was unable to help herself.
