‘Hannibal’ Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers, News: Cast and Crew Spotted Filming In Italy

NBC is not saying much about the third season of 'Hannibal', but fans will be happy to hear that production is currently underway as the cast was spotted filming in Florence, Italy.

According to reports, 'Hannibal' started filming in Italy on Monday and they shot in locations such as the Medici home, the outside of the Uffizi Museum, the inside of Caffe Gilli, inside the Santa Maria Novella train station, inside or at the front of the Ponte S. Trinita and inside or at the front of the Palazzo Medici Riccardi.

The first half of the season will reportedly focus on Hannibal Lecter's life in Europe with his partner in crime Bedelia Du Maurier. Bedelia tagged along after Hannibal when the latter fled America and pictures of the shooting showed Bedelia dressed in a variety of outfits as she roams around the city with Hannibal.

Videos and more snapshots taken by fans also showed that aside from Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Hannibal, and Gillian Anderson, who plays Bedelia, other cast members were present, such as Laurence Fishburne who plays Jack Crawford, Fortunato Cerlino who plays Inspector Pazzi and Tom Wisdom, whose role remains unknown.

It is unknown as of yet just what the story is behind the third season of 'Hannibal', but it has been reported that the season will pick up one year after the previous season. Also, while there has been no definitive release date mentioned by NBC, rumor has it that the series will come back to the small screen sometime next spring.

The writers of the show have teased about it on the show's official Twitter account. The post read, "Throwing around exceptionally creepy ideas today."

There is no news on what those creepy ideas were, but expectations are definitely high considering the fact that the previous season showed the characters consuming human flesh, being sliced and being treated as science experiments.
