While there is still a lot of time left before 'Hannibal' returns for Season 3 on NBC this summer, some news regarding the psychological thriller-horror television series popped up on media outlets recently, keeping fans up to date about the upcoming season of the show. Currently, there is news that 'True Detective' star Glenn Fleshler is joining the show.

Christian Today reports that Fleshler will not find his role in 'Hannibal' as something new, as it will feel very similar to another round of 'True Detective,' wherein he portrayed the character of Errol Childress, the weird lawn-mowing murderer who is known to everybody as the spaghetti monster. The report quotes Latino Post as saying that Fleshler will indeed be a great addition to the show owing to the fact that his character in the psychological thriller-horror series is reported to be stranger than Childress.

In 'Hannibal', Fleshler will be seen as Cordell, the personal physician (according to some, a nurse) to Mason Verge, the maimed and pedophilic meat market mogul.

Michael Ausiello reported by TV Line that Fleshler's character is of a person who takes a lot of work about his work, but "might be as sadistic as his boss." Several reports have described the character as quiet, intelligent and creepy. It seems that the last adjective suits the character most. While Cordell can be rather "attentive and gentle" to Verger, his creepiness is striking.

According to Latino Post, in the 'Hannibal' novels, Cordell is shown as Verger's personal doctor and his unofficial spokesperson. Paste Magazine also talks about how Cordell is passionate about spending time with the trained, flesh-eating pigs owned by Verger.

Richard Armitage, who featured in 'The Hobbit,' will also join the 'Hannibal' cast to play the role of a serial killer named Francis Dolarhyde, who is dubbed as "The Tooth Fairy." Apart from Fleshler and Amitage, 'True Blood' actress Rutina Wesley will portray the character of a blind woman named Reba McClane, who is associated with the murderer.
