'Halo Wars 2' News: Cinematic Trailer Features Villain, AI
The Creative Assembly and 343 Industries have released the teaser trailer for "Halo Wars 2" and it features new characters like the villain Atriox and AI Isabelle.
As per the trailer, the game features the UNSC Spirit of Fire crew as they wake up from cryosleep, with the assistant telling them that something has happened. As they investigate the area, one of them is attacked and is presumably killed by a new foe.
The succeeding sequence reveals that the enemies are bigger and are in higher number. Combat between the human warriors and the villains starts, with their head watching in a spaceship saying "Let's see what kind of galaxy we woke up to."
In other news, "Halo Wars 2" also presents new Brute villain Atriox and the studios ebhind the title gave light on his impact on the game.
In a panel discussion, 343 Industries' Kevin Grace, Dan Ayoub, Frank O'Connor, Kiki Wolfkill and Blur Studios' Dave Wilson and actress Erika Soto talked about the character and the story arc of the title.
As per Wilson, as cited by Polygon, Atriox's power was shown in the trailer to set a foundation on how powerful his is. He said that one of the things they had been focusing on early had been something for the superheroes to bump up against and something to fear.
According to Grace, they had wanted to set the stakes and set them him, adding that Atriox's introduction had been based fromone of the original "Halo Wars," in which a Spartans team had fought their way through a bridge and handily destroying enemies.
Soto plays new smart AI Isabelle in the title. In the panel, the actress said that the AI was raw, emotionally charged, and passionate about protecting and preserving the people she cared about. She added that Isabele loved people in a fierce way and she was a cool twist on the AI concept.
"Halo Wars 2" is set to be released on Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in February 2017.
