'Halo Wars 2' News: Cinematic Teaser Revives Spirit Of Fire; Xbox One And Windows 10 Cross-Play Possible
Along with talks about possible cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10 in 343 Industries, Creative Assembly, and Microsoft Studios' "Halo Wars 2," the title's cinematic teaser showed a revived Spirit of Fire.
The awakened United Nations Space Command (UNSC) Spirit of Fire and its crew are seen in "Halo Wars 2's" cinematic trailer. It opens with the AI talking to the captain, saying that something had happened. Then, the members of the human crew begin scrutinizing the spacecraft, until they are attacked by a new villain, which was previously revealed as a new alien faction called the Banished.
Succeeding sequences show the battle between the aliens and the human forces, using their own weapons. The teaser concluded with the Spirit of Fire's Captain saying that they would see what kind of galaxy they had awaken to.
In other news, "Halo Wars 2" could see a cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10 at one point in the future, as per reports. In an interview with Xbox Achievement, executive producer Graeme Jennings, he said that it was really a good value for a players ability to be play in two platforms, suggesting that the cross-play is possible.
"Halo Wars 2" is 343 Industries and Creative Assembly's real-time strategy (RTS) game and sequel to the "Halo Wars" series in 2009. Set in the fictional realm of the "Halo" series, the title centers the return of the human crew of the UNSC warship "Spirit of Fire" and the rise of the new alien group, the Banished.
343 Industries and Creative Assembly's "Halo Wars 2" is set to be released for the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on Feb. 21, 2017.
