'Halo Wars 2' News & Update: Gameplay Trailer Shows Single-Player Mode, Studio Head Talks RTS Gaming [WATCH]

343 Industries has revealed a new gameplay video for "Halo Wars 2" and it gives players a look at the single-player gameplay.

The studio showed the video at the PAX West panel, Game Spot has learned. The opens in a forest, with two space craft landing. Human soldiers get off from the space craft and they head to a certain area in the map. That area is presumably their enemies' camp and as they approach the enemies' territory, the combat between them starts.

Along with human characters, the gameplay video also features battleships, which boosts a team's power against the opposing team because they fire multiple explosives that kill more soldiers.

In line with the fame, studio head Dan Ayoub also revealed a mode that will provide an entirely new way to play an RTS game. In a statement at PAX West, as cited by Dual Shockers, Ayoub said that one of the modes, which he could only tease for the time being was actually a completely new way to play a RTS.

Ayoub mentioned that really took standard RTS gameplay and turned it on its head and that was a mode that could be played in a shorter time frame as well. As per the publication, the studio head did not unveil additional information on the said mode.

"Halo Wars 2" is set to be released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One on Feb. 21, 2017. Also, an open beta for the game is set to come out in the early part of 2017.
