'Half Life 3' Release Date News: Game Postponed Until 2018?
Since Valve will focus on VR features, it might even lessen the chances that the "Half-Life 3" will happen.
According to The Verge, the Valve will be assigning one third of it's workers to develop the VR feature. Alan Yates, a hardware engineer over at Valve, said that the company is working on the innovations of their product.
"I was super fortunate to start at Valve right around the time Michael Abrash had begun the AR/VR research team," Yates said according to a reddit page thread. "It was a much smaller team then than it is now, it has since grown to encompass about a third of the company, but the key individuals that solved most of the really hard technological problems and facilitated this generation of consumer headsets are still here working on the next generation," he added.
Also, according to Yibada, "Half-Life 3" is expected to be launched with full VR compatibility by 2018. The release date has been pushed for a couple of years now and this time, fans really do hope that 2018 would be the year that the game comes out. Recently, the fans have been demanding of either another update of the "Half-Life 2" or a complete version of "Half-Life 3."
Half-Life is a sci- fi first-person shooter video game. The franchise is developed by Valve and was first released in 1998 by Sierra Studios for Microsoft Windows. The makers of the game are also the ones who created "Counter Strike" and "Left 4 Dead."
