'Haider' Box Office Collection Review, News: ‘Haider’ vs. ‘Bang Bang’ - Which Bollywood Film Won at Box Office?

Two of the biggest Bollywood movies went head-to-head in the Indian Bollywood Box Office recently, Shahid Kapoor's 'Haider' and Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaifa's 'Bang Bang'.

The two Indian films are from opposite sides of the spectrum, with 'Haider' being a drama while the other one is an action film.

'Haider' is a Hindi drama film dubbed as a modern day adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. It is the third film in the trilogy written by Basharat Peer and Bhardwaj.

'Bang Bang', on the other hand, is a Hollywood remake of the action film 'Knight and Day' which starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

'Haider' starring Shraddha Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor is struggling at the Indian Box Office despite raking in positive reviews.

The Hindi drama was reported to make Rs 3-4 crores on Tuesday, as trade experts would have predicted.

Despite having positive reviews about it especially in the metro cities, 'Haider' was reported to be faring poorly against 'Bang Bang', which pulled in viewers from the mass regions, but reportedly got "bad reviews."

According to Filmibeat, the reason for the low performance of the film was because it had gotten hold of 1200 screens whereas 'Bang Bang' reportedly was able to occupy 5000 screens worldwide.

Hindustan Times also reported that 'Bang Bang' was way ahead of 'Haider' in marketing and promotion. The title song of the action movie was released 15 days before its premiere.

The early marketing strategy payed off for 'Bang Bang' as it earned Rs 25 crores on its premiere on Oct. 2 while 'Haider' was trailing behind at Rs 6 crores.

'Haider' pulled in Rs 4.2 crores in North America (USA and Canada), Rs 1.03 crores in the United Kingdom, Rs 2.14 crores in the United Arab Emirates/ G.C.C. and Rs 0.56 crores in Australia.

All in all, 'Haider' was able to earn approximately Rs 43.33 crores while 'Bang Bang' made a whopping Rs 250.75 crores in the box office worldwide.
