'H1Z1: King Of The Kill' News & Updates: Game In Works For Xbox One, PS4 Paused For Upcoming PC Release

Along with details on the release date of Daybreak Game Company's "H1Z1: King of the Hill," the studio also stops the development of the game's console versions.

Daybreak temporarily halts the development of "H1Z1: King of the Hill's" console versions to give way on the game's forthcoming PC version, as per Gamasutra. According to the publication, it is a recent move in the game's written development, as the early part of the year unveiled the game in two separate games; they are "H1Z1: King of the Kill" and "H1Z1: Just Survive."

"King of the Kill" is the game's multiplayer shooter mode while "Just Survive" is the game's apocalyptic massively multiplayer online game.

In the producer's letter on "H1Z1's" official website, game executive producer Chris Wynn explained the reason behind the pause on the game's console version development. He said that they had been spread too thin trying to fix areas of the game while simultaneously getting the game to work on the console hardware.

Wynn also said that it had become clear that to best line up the game for success had been to reduce the number of variables in the equation. As an effect, they had decided to pause their efforts on the console versions and put their 100 percent focus onto the game's PC version.

The producer added that the studio would resume the development of the game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as soon as they release the completed PC version for early access.

"H1Z1: Kill of the King" is set to be released for PC on Sept. 30.
