'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' Release Date, Spoilers: Director James Gunn Talks Upcoming Sequel
"Guardians of the Galaxy" had many fans skeptical of how it would fair in the already well established Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with its huge success viewers are now all clamoring to hear on the happenings of the sequel.
Director James Gunn fills us in with what we can expect in terms of who we'll see returning, and who we may have to regretfully miss.
"Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will see the return of Yondu, played by Michael Rooker, and the Ravagers. The father of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) will also play an important part in the story of the sequel. As for other characters from Guardians of the Galaxy, Gunn offered some more information of who will return for the sequel," writes Cinema Blend.
Gunn took to a live commentary on his Facebook to answer some burning questions from fans.
When asked if we were going to see Ronan The Accuser return, the villain from the first movie, Gunn answered "Who knows. But not in 2, no."
The villain was killed off at the end of the movie but there has been more strange happenings in Marvel movies.
Nebula was confirmed to be back, along with the fan favorite Groot. Although Gunn noted, "Well, who says baby Groot is Groot and not Groot's son?"
Gunn also addressed Rocket Racoon's love interest who plays a significant role in the comics, Lylla. When asked if the character would make an appearance, his answer followed:
"You'll have to wait and see on Lylla. ... I think it's very important that Rocket is the only thing like him, which is the source of his sadness and loneliness... An otter girlfriend could get really cartoony really."
"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will premiere May 5th, 2017.
