On August 1, the American superhero film entitled 'Guardian of the Galaxy' was released, and rapidly became a box office hit. The blockbuster if based off a Marvel Comic of the same name.

The cast includes Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt and many more. Since the film has been doing so well with ticket sales, fans are anticipating a sequel. In fact, Marvel Studios has already announced a projected series installment for 2017.

In the sequel, fans to see the mysterious father of Star-Lord revealed. Actually, Director James Gunn himself spoiled that detail, and said that the film will deviate from the comic books series in that regard.

Fans have come to the conclusion that Star-Lord's father will not be Spartoi, who's a royal alien that resembles a human in the comic book series.

According to Hitfix, some speculations reveal the following as prospect fathers - Stardust, who fits his mother's description of being an angel made of pure light; Starfox, a notorious lothario; and Adam Warlock. However, franchise fans will have to wait until the movie is released to know his identity for sure.

Aside from the issue regarding Star-Lord's father, moviegoers are waiting for the comeback of the Collector. As it stands, the producers have bigger plans for the character, as the film will take focus on the Thanos' storyline.

On a side note, Howard the Duck made an appearance in the ending credits of 'Guardian of the Galaxy'. This has led many to believe that he will be receiving his own feature film soon.
