'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' News, Spoilers: Sequel Film to Being Production in February 2016

The sequel to last summer's blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy, will begin filming in February 2016, according to director and writer James Gunn.

The second movie, entitled Guardians of the Galaxy 2, will be shot at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, whereas the first movie was shot in London.

Gunn also said, in an interview with Periscope, that he has already submitted a treatment to Marvel, and that he would be meeting with the studio soon to work on the screenplay, which he has already completed 70 pages for.

Apparently Marvel thought that Gunn's idea for the sequel to Guardians was risky, as the story will deviate from the plot of the comic books and give the director much more creative freedom.

Apparently, the sequel will feature all of the actors from the first movie, reprising their roles. These include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Dave Bautista, who will be playing Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax, respectively.

There has also been word that Karen Gillan will also be returning as the villain Nebula, who cut her own hand off and threw herself off of Dark Aster in the first movie, but apparently survived.

On the other hand, Lee Pace, who played Ronan, will not be reappearing in the new movie.

According to Gunn, the screenplay for the second Guardians movie will focus in some part on who Peter Quill's father is.

In a podcast earlier this year, Gunn said "It'll answer some of the questions that were put forth in the first movie about Peter Quill's father and who he is and what's going on with that."
