'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Cast Rumors, Release Date: LL Cool J & Daniel Radcliffe to Appear in Sequel?
This summer's blockbuster comic book flick, 'Guardians of the Galaxy', is a shoe-in for a sequel despite being in a market that's seemingly saturated with superhero movies. Rumors are already beginning to swirl about the possibilities for the second film, and some interesting names are being dropped.
Fans of the first film hope that Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will all be reprising their roles, but it is rumored that Daniel Radcliffe and LL Cool J have also been in talks to participate in the upcoming sequel, which has a release date of May 5, 2017.
LL Cool J tweeted from his account, "I'm so ready for this role in Marvel movie," while Radcliffe expresses his interest in being a part of the upcoming 'Batman vs Superman' film.
However, it's hard to tell if the actors' are actually in talks with Marvel, or they're simply expressing a desire for the little wish fulfillment. After all, Radcliffe did recently attend the San Diego Comic-Con dressed as Spider-man; how else could he keep from being recognized?
The only thing that has been confirmed is that the second 'Guardians' film will not group itself with the Phase Three films being put out by Marvel in the near future.
In an interview with MTV, writer/director Nick Gunn said, "I don't feel beholden to that stuff at all. I think it's really about the Guardians and what they are doing. We're not subservient to the Avengers. Guardians 2 is not a movie that's made to move toward [Avengers: Infinity War]. It's something that's made to move toward future cosmic movies, so I don't feel that that is something that affects me that much."
