'Guardians of The Galaxy 2' Release Date: Casting Call For Pom Klementieff? Director Says Filming Started
It is still a year before "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will hit the big screens but teasers about the much-awaited film have already been circulating on the web. The director himself James Gunn declared that the sequel had begun filming. Plus, there are new characters to expect on the second flick.
Director Gunn is known to be the first person to share bits about his latest movie. Apparently, he officially announced on Instagram that the production team started filming "Vol.2" approximately a week ago.
The photo, which shows a director's chair that has the title in it was captioned, "In the words of the great poet, David Coverdale, here I go again." Fans are guessing that the caption is a hint for a song that will be included on the "Awesome Mix Vol. 2."
Meanwhile, another exciting news sparked on the Internet. A source claimed that an Asian actress is about to portray the role of the telepathic martial artist, Mantis. Actress Pom Klementieff who plays as Haeng-Bok in Spike Lee's "Oldboy" was said to be selected and the perfect choice for the character.
"We have a new cast member playing a new member of the Guardians of the Galaxy and she was the most awesome and easiest person I've ever had to cast," Gunn also revealed during a Facebook Q&A, as quoted from The Hollywood Reporter.
"She blew me. She's amazing, and I can't wait to share her with the world," the director added.
The release date for "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2" is set on May 5, 2017.
