GTA V PS4 & Xbox One DLC News: Christmas Content Extended Ahead of Heists Update Due to DDos Attacks

There were major problems for gamers on Christmas Day when Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4 networks encountered problems following an attack by hackers who targeted the two online services- as a result, it was not possible for players to log into their accounts and download any new content.

Rockstar had earlier released the "Festive Surprise" update for 'Grand Theft Auto Online' - this featured a variety of winter items and bonuses that players can enjoy for the holiday season. It seems Los Santos was covered in snow and players were supposed to get several gift extras such as new weapons, four new vehicles, fireworks shooters, masks, and winter clothes.

However, the attack of hackers did not open up the gates and prevented gamers from getting these on Christmas Day. In the end, the networks were interrupted for about 24 hours. Therefore, Rockstar extended the "Festive Surprise" holiday gifts even after the initial deadline.

'GTA V' players can still download the special gift pack - of course, there appears to be a catch because they have not indicated how long the pack will be featured. The message according to the Rockstar Games is that the gifts will be available only "for the time being."

Moreover, there are talks that Rockstar will be launching "Online Heists" for 'GTA V' after the holiday gift pack. As it stands, Rockstar plans to release "Online Heists" early in January 2015.
