'GTA V' and GTA Online Release News: Developers Tease Rockstar Editor via New Video
Grand Theft Auto 5 was made available for play on PC last Tuesday, and the developers of the game, Rockstar in New York City, released a new teaser for excited fans on Monday.
The teaser, which was a two minute video clip trailer of the Rockstar Editor, shows the new tool which will allow players to share and alter their videos. It is similar to the social media platforms Instagram or Snapchat, for in game use.
Rockstar Editor is compatible with both Grand Theft Auto 5, and the online mode of the game, called GTA Online.
It gives players the options of adding filters to their game stills and videos, recording game play footage, capturing a player's last few moments of playing and even editing and splicing together multiple clips.
It also allows players to add text, insert tracks, use camera filters and even make adjustments to the game audio.
There is also a director mode, in which players can make their own customized moments and add animals, as well as set the location, time of day and weather patterns on the game.
Videos made using the Rockstar Editor can be exported to the gallery, and uploaded to YouTube and the Rockstar Game Social Club.
Grand Theft Auto 5 received great reviews after it was launched in 2013 for game consoles. It is the first installment in the franchise since Grand Theft Auto 4, which was released in 2008.
After it was released, the game won the Game of the Year honors award at the 2013 Gold Joystick Awards.
It generated over $800 million in profit within 24 hours of being launched. GTA 5 for PC was made available on Tuesday for digital download and in retail stores.
