'Grimm' Season 6 Premiere News: Chris McKenna Joins Cast As Formidable Lieutenant

"State of Affairs" star Chris McKenna is joining the cast of "Grimm" season 6 as a formidable lieutenant.

Following Captain Renard's decision to quit the force to become mayor, Chris McKenna will join the cast as Lieutenant Grossante, who is described as a "formidable and drive" and "military-type" Portland cop.

The actor announced his casting via his Twitter account, where he wrote, "Very excited to be joining the cast of @NBCGrimm. More details as I get 'em!"

According to McKenna, he has officially signed for just one episode in the series, but there is a possibility that he might appear in more.

Viewers of the series speculate that his character will eventually be revealed as a Wesen, as it happened many times before with many of the show's characters. Fans look forward to finding out the truth behind his identity as Lieutenant Grossante.

Prior to his debut in "Grimm" season 6, McKenna has worked in several popular TV shows and movies, including "90210," "Castle," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Private Practice" and "The Young and the Restless." His most recent project was "The Bold and the Beautiful," where he portrayed the role of Dr. Hayden.

The NBC has not yet announced the premiere date of the upcoming season, but it will reportedly be composed of 13 episodes and will focus on the events occurring within the bounds of the Portland Police Department.

Asked whether or not "Grimm" season 6 will be the last for the series, executive producer David Greenwalt said, "There may or may not be more episodes. it may or may not be the last season. These are things we don't yet know. We're certainly thinking of arcs for next year, and then the episode order will determine how long it takes to do that."
