'Grimm' News: NBC Says No Season 7 Renewal For 'Grimm' After Shortened Season 6
NBC has officially announced that "Grimm" will no longer be renewed for another season after a shortened season 6.
The supernatural crime drama became a hit during its 2011-2012 season despite airing on Fridays. It was the first series by the current NBC management that actually lasted for six seasons.
Since the previous seasons of the series consisted of 22 episodes each, fans became suspicious when it was announced that season 6 will only have 13 episodes. Each new season of "Grimm" usually debuts before Halloween, but the season 6 premiere has been pushed back to Jan. 6 of next year. The upcoming season will also air in its new timeslot of 8:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m.
"Grimm" season 6 is set to feature the most anticipated showdown between Nick and Captain Renard.
Here is an overview of the final season of the series as per Deadline:
The nefarious forces of Black Claw have been silenced and Nick (David Giuntoli) faces an all too familiar foe in Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Now in the seat of power as the mayor elect of Portland, Renard is poised to bring rise to his own brand of law and order. Nick must take a stand to protect his city and those closest to him, especially his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). It will take the full force of Nick and his allies to find a way to bring the peace.
Meanwhile, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) grapple with bringing a child into a new and tumultuous world, and Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) faces unsettling identity issues as her former self lurks below the surface.
"Grimm" season 6 premieres on Jan. 6, 8:00 p.m. on NBC.
