Despite reports that many of its original cast members are already leaving the series, "Grey's Anatomy" will still continue with its 13^th season.

It was previously reported that Sara Ramirez, the actress behind Callie Torres, requested showrunner Shonda Rhimes that she wanted to leave the show. The news disheartened fans, since the romance between Callie and Arizona is one of the fan-favorites in the series.

Just recently, ABC sealed the deal and confirmed that season 13 will push through notwithstanding the departure of some of its cast members. Prior to the confirmation, actress Ellen Pompeo renewed her contract and promised to stay for the next season.

Season 13 is expected to follow the love triangle between Meredith, Maggie and Nathan. Reports suggest that Maggie has a liking for Nathan Riggs, but complications will arise after she learns that her half-sister Meredith had a one-night stand with Nathan and has a soft spot for him, too.

In his interview with TV Line, Martin Henderson revealed that Nathan's fling with Meredith will continue next season. He also mentioned that fans should expect more romance between the two characters, though "with no strings attached."

Meanwhile, Rhimes revealed in a previous interview that the upcoming season may open with Owen and Amelia's wedding, with Meredith appearing to be somewhat off about it. The premiere episode will also see the reunion of April and Jackson. The two decided to get back together for the sake of their baby.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 premieres on September 22, 2016 on ABC.
