'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Show Creator Teases New Love Interests for Callie, Arizona, Maggie

Though 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 ended on a grim note, show creator Shonda Rhimes suggests that not all doctors in the long-running ABC medical drama will have lonely hearts when the show return for Season 12 this fall. Rhimes teased that fans will see Callie, Arizona and Maggie getting new love interests in the upcoming installment of the show.

Christian Today reports that during 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11, some of the doctors at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital experienced devastating relationship woes. While Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) lost her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) in a tragic car accident, Jackson Avery and April Kepner lost their first-born son just days after his birth straining their relationship. On the other hand, though Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) and Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) decided to end their marriage, it does not suggest that they will not be happy in the upcoming season.

According to TV Line, fans will see the former couple dating other people next season. Rhimes teased that the former lovers will meet new characters, and they will both date women. However, this is not unexpected of Arizona, as she is known to be a lesbian since she was introduced in the series for the first time. In the meantime, Callie's new relationship with another woman will ascertain that she is a bisexual.

Rhimes recently said, "I do want to honor the fact that Callie is bisexual, and we've established that she's dated guys. But in terms of where she's going now, she's going to be dating a woman."

Actress Kelly McCreary also disclosed that her character Maggie Pierce will be practically closer to her half sister Meredith, as she will start living with her and Derek's sister Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) at their mother Ellis Grey's house. Although Maggie seems to enjoy living with her half sister, it may still result in some trifle conflicts between the two.

Talking about her character, McCreary said, "There will definitely be some conflict, but of the hilarious variety as opposed to the sisters-pulling-each-other's-hair-out variety. You can expect some 'clashes of the titans' going on."

The actress further shared that there are also plans to deal with Maggie's love life in Season 12.

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 24.
