'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Plot Speculations: Will Jo and Alex Split in Upcoming Season?

Despite the fact that the lovebirds of 'Grey's Anatomy' Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) have been having a great time during the past few seasons, actress Luddington feels that it is time to worry about their future.

According to a report in IB Times, since no other couple in this ABC medical television drama series had such a smooth ride thus far, Luddington is of the view that in Season 12 of the series, fans may possibly see a strained relationship between Alex and Jo.

In a recent interview with TV Line, the actress said, "I'm nervous because Jo and Alex have had three seasons of being pretty good like, which is really unusual on Grey's. They've had issues, but they've gotten over them. So, that makes me think that they moved in together I just don't trust that things are going to continue to go well."

In the previous season of 'Grey's Anatomy,' fans have seen that Jo wants to settle down in Seattle and she bought the house in Season 11 to find out if Alex really wanted to take their relationship to the next step.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Luddington regarding Jo's intention to purchase the Seattle house was to see if Alex would settle down with her, she said, "She's definitely saying that now she wants to put down roots; she's very serious about that. She's crazy about Alex and you hear her say she loves Alex. I don't think she's leaving."

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that the two will confront plenty of problems in Season 12, but it is also very likely that Jo and Alex would walk down the aisle by the end of the season.

As far as the future of the other characters is concerned, it is likely that the show runners will go ahead with Meredith Grey's Alzheimer's storyline Season 12. Some seasons back, Meredith (Allen Pompeo) tested positive for the Alzheimer's gene for multiple genetic markers of the disease. Since then, Meredith has made numerous references to the likelihood of her dying in the same manner in which her mother passed away.

On the other hand, before Meredith succumbs to Alzheimer's, it is likely that she would find love once again, possibly with Martin Henderson's character.

Filming for 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 is currently underway and the premiere episode will air on ABC on Sept. 24.
