If the latest rumors are to be believed, an important cast member of "Grey's Anatomy' will be leaving the show in the coming months. As of now, it is unconfirmed news, but there is gossip that show creator Shonda Rhimes plans to kill one key character on the ABC medical television drama.

Michael Ausiello of TV Line recently wrote in his "Ask Ausiello" column: "Yes, I've heard the rumor about a Grey's Anatomy doctor dying during May sweeps. No, I have no idea if it's true." On the other hand, some fans of 'Grey's Anatomy' think that the rumor may turn out to be true since Rhimes has not killed any major character on the show for a while.

Now, the question is which character will die next. Among the various characters of the show, Meredith has been the unluckiest, having lost her step-sister Lexie, her mother Ellis, and even her step-mother Susan. Hence, it is possible that Meredith may be the one to suffer yet another loss. Meanwhile, bets are on Maggie dying sometime in the near future.

Some fans even speculate that it could be Richard Webber, Maggie's biological father and the former chief of surgery.

However, as of now, everything is mere speculation, but it seems that the doctors at Grey Solan may be facing a tragedy, as one of the upcoming episodes will feature yet another plane crash.

Entertainment Weekly posted a spoiler of 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11, which reads, "An upcoming episode will feature all hands on deck in the ER after a plane crashes in Seattle." The post added, "The incident will cause Mer and Arizona in particular to suffer from PTSD once again, but they won't be the only ones reeling from the event that took the lives of Lexie and Mark."

Fans of 'Grey's Anatomy' are already aware that Lexie lost her life in the ill-fated plane crash in the show's Season 8, which is considered to be the biggest tragedy on the show so far. Apart from Lexie's death, five other doctors - Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), and Mark (Eric Dance) - also sustained injuries, while Mark lost his life in Season 9.

All the survivors endured post traumatic stress disorders; especially Cristina was unable to talk after the accident, while Arizona had to have her leg amputated.

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 Episode 17 titled 'With or Without You' airs Thursday, March 26, on ABC.
