'Grey’s Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Patient’s Attack Paralyzes Meredith, All Hospital Staff In Shock?

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12's upcoming premiere will unveil Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) in a fragile condition -- following an attack by a huge and powerful patient.

Meredith was grabbed like a doll, spun around the room, and thrown hard into a glass cabinet, where she laid paralyzed.

The incident has bought a dark cloud in the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. All the staff were in shock, but Alex (Justin Chambers) seems to be the most affected by the incident.

Because Meredith's male friend and confidante was too depressed to function, Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) and the rest of the staff had to overcome their emotions to care for Meredith.

Pickens, however, tells E! News that Chambers' character needs to pull himself together because Meredith's life in now on their hands, "[Meredith's attack] makes us realize how much of a family Seattle Grace really is and how in times of trauma and times of turmoil, how you come together for the common good."

Alex will be a good contribution both medically and emotionally to his friend, but he will have to leave his personal issues behind, including his proposal to Jo (Camilla Luddington) which was left unanswered when the show left with a cliffhanger.

"Grey's Anatomy" will come back with its midseason 12 premiere on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
