'Green Lantern' Cast Rumors, News: Chris Pine to Announce Casting at Comic-Con
The rumors that 'Star Trek' actor Chris Pine would be co-starring in the 'Wonder Woman' solo film as Steve Trevor, the heroine's boyfriend, was recently debunked by another rumor that suggests the actor is in negotiations to play Hal Jordan, or the Green Lantern.
This rumor has now recently become supported by a site that reports that they've confirmed the actor being up for the role with a close friend of his.
"But this weekend I talked to someone close to Chris Pine who confirmed that the actor is in fact up for Hal Jordan. And that he had been offered Steve Trevor. But most of all the source told me that, as of end of business Thursday, Pine hadn't officially signed on to anything - despite Warner Bros wanting him to come out on stage at Comic Con this weekend," writes BirthMoviesDeath.
This leads spectators to believe that the actor will make his official decision publicly at Comic-Con, and that he's more than likely leaning on playing Hal Jordan. This would most likely give the actor a lot more opportunities to appear in the DC Warner Bros. franchise, as Green Lantern, being a Justice League member, should appear a lot more outside of his respective solo film.
"My source tells me that Pine is definitely leaning towards Green Lantern - better to have your own franchise than be guesting in someone else's seems to be the (bummer) thinking - but it looks like we won't officially know until the Warner Bros panel at Comic-Con," writes BirthMoviesDeath.
This rumor however doesn't bring confirmation to the other rumor suggesting that there will in fact be two Green Lanterns, the next being John Stewart. This role is rumored to be in contention with Tyrese Gibson.
