‘Gran Turismo Sport' PS4 Release Date News: Game Arriving Next Year

Along with talks about Polyphony Digital's "Gran Turismo (GT) Sport" featuring the Ferrari red, new details on the game's release date have surfaced.

"Gran Turismo Sport" is set to be released in 2017, as per PlayStation Universe. However, the exact release date is still unknown. As per the publication, it stands as the first "Gran Turismo" game for the PlayStation 4.

Previously, "Gran Turismo" series creator Kazunori Yamuchi said in a statement, as cited by the publication, that "Gran Turismo Sport" was the regular title of the "GT" series and the gaming content was so ample that one could consider it as "Gran Turismo 7." He added that the game was titled "GT Sport" because the "Sport Mode" of the game was important.

"If I have to change a statement, maybe "Gran Turismo 7 SPort" is a more correct name," Yamuchi said.

As per Eurogamer, Yamauchi also said during a presentation that "Gran Turismo Sport" is also the first installment in the franchise that will accurately portray the Ferrari red. According to the publication, a trick is used to make the Ferrari look like the red traditionally linked with the marque.

The developer also teased that the PlayStation 4 Pro version is set to have a 4K and 1800p checkerboard resolution and HDR and wide color support. It is added that the new game version is set to support latest and future HDR TV devices and it is able to reach a brightness level of 10,000 nits.

Published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, "Gran Turismo Sport" is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017.
