Grammy Awards Given To Kirk Franklin, Francesca Battistelli, Toby Mac, Israel & New Breed

On Monday, at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards at Los Angeles' Staples Center, the Best Contemporary Christian Music Song/Performance and Album, Best Gospel Song/Performance and Album, as well as Best Roots Gospel Album were revealed, with Kirk Franklin, Francesca Battistelli, Toby Mac, Israel & New Breed scoring big.

According to the official Grammy Awards website, Israel & New Breed's "Covered: Alive In Asia" won the Best Gospel Album while Kirk Franklin won the Best Gospel Song/Performance with his project "Wanna Be Happy?"

Francesca Battistelli won the Best Contemporary Christian Music Song/Performance with her song "Holy Spirit" while Toby Mac's "This Is Not a Test" won the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album  

The Fairfield Four's "Still Rockin' My Soul" was awarded the Best Roots Gospel Album.

E! News reports t, Other awardees include Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra's "The Afro Latin Jazz Suite;" Avi Kaplin, Kristin Taylor, and Kevin K.O. Olusola's "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy" for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella; Maria Schneider's "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)" for Best Arrangement, Instrument and Vocals; and Sarah Dodds, Shauna Dodds, and Dick Reeves' "Asleep at the Wheel, Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys."

The Best Album Notes accolade was received by Joni Mitchell's "Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A ballet, Waiting To Be Danced" while the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package award went to Various Artists, The Rise & Fall Of Paramount Records, Volume Two."

Various Artist's "The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11" got the Best Historical Album while Alabama Shakes' "Sound & Color" received the Best Engineered Non-Classical Album. Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk (Dave Aude Remix) was the Best Surround Sound Album, James Guthrie and Joel Plante's "Amused To Death" was the Best Jazz Vocal Album, while Cecile McLorin Salvant's "For One to Love" was hailed as the Best Jazz Instrumental Album.

The Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album was Maria Schneider's "The Thompson Fields" while the Best Latin Jazz Album was Elian Elias' "Made in Brazil." Angelique Kidjo's "Sings" was the Best World Album while Tim Kubart's "Home" was hailed as the Best Children's Album.

Los Tigres Del Nortes' "Realidades - Deluxe Edition," Mavis Staples' "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean," Jason Isbell's "24 Frames," Isbell's "Something More Than Free," The Steeldrivers' "The Muscle Shoals Recordings," Buddy Guy's "Born To Play Guitar," Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn's "Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn," and Jon Cleary's "Go Go Juice" won the Best Regional Mexican Music Album, Best Tropical Latin Album, Best American Roots Performance, Best American Roots Song, Best Americana Album, Best Bluegrass Album, Best Blues Album, Best Folk Album, and Best Regional Roots Music Album, respectively. In addition, Lionel Richie was recognized as MusiCares Person of the Year.

LL Cool J hosted the event, and in an interview with E! News, the host said before the show that anything was possible, adding that he did not know what he would do.

He mentioned that he might have gotten nervous and his knees started shaking or trembling. He just said he guessed he would just run offstage screaming.
