Grammy Awards 2015 Recap, News: List of Winners Include Sam Smith, Beyonce, Beck, & More

The Grammys are over, and Sam Smith is the reigning king of the night, taking home four top awards. On that note, it's clear Smith was the big winner of the evening.

His record of the year for "Stay with Me," and best new artist wins were almost overshadowed by his surprising acceptance speech.

"I want to thank the man who this record is about...Thank you so much for breaking my heart because I have four Grammys," said Smith.

Rounding out the top awards for the evening was Beck, who took home the award for album of the year. Beck's win came as a surprise to the audience. He beat out Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran and others to claim the prize.

While the awards recipients wowed in their best-dressed ensembles, the crowds were entertained by a cross-section of the best music of the past fifty years. Madonna performed "Living for Love" while a choir sang behind her.

Kayne West performed "Only One"; the song is a tribute to his late mother. Beyoncé, who won for "Drunk in Love", thanked her husband, the rapper Jay-Z, and daughter in her acceptance speech for her wins for best R&B song and R&B performance.

After video was released earlier in the week, many were waiting for the live performance of Rhianna's "FourFiveSeconds." Paul McCartney and Kayne West joined her on stage for vocally impressive performance.

The Disney juggernaut "Frozen" continues to receive praise and won two more awards during the evening.

In a bittersweet moment, Melissa Rivers accepted an award for her late mother Joan Rivers, who won best spoken word album.

In regards to Rivers win for "Diary of a Mad Diva," her daughter Melissa said, "If my mother was here tonight, she would not only be honored and thrilled to be holding her first Grammy, she would most likely have it copied and on the air on QVC by 11."
