'Gotham' Season 3 Spoilers & News: Mad Hatter Is Ben McKenzie's Favorite? [TRAILER]

Jim Gordon portrayer Ben McKenzie is excited for what is in store for his character in "Gotham" season 3, but the thing that excites him most is meeting Jervis Tetch.

Jervis Tetch, more commonly known as The Mad Hatter, is one of the new villains in the upcoming installment of the series. According to McKenzie, the character has always been his personal favorite from the comics.

"We're bringing in a whole new crop of villains, including Mad Hatter, who is a personal favorite of mine from the comics. I'm fascinated to see what the actor we have hired--Benedict Samuel--does with that," told the actor during his interview with Business Standard.

As for his character in the series, McKenzie said he is happy to finally move on from the events of his past as he gets his own apartment. He is also glad that fans have noticed it.

"I'm so glad that audiences care about things like this because I feel like I'm the only one sometimes. I tell the producers, 'What does it take for the lead actor to get his own set?' Breaking news; big news: Jim has his own apartment in season three," he said.

While Gordon won't be looking for a new relationship next season, he will develop something special with Valerie Vale, the reporter he met in the previous season. When they first met in season 2, Valerie offered him a deal to track down Fish Mooney.

McKenzie revealed that while their agreement is supposed to be strictly professional, Gordon will find himself falling for the female reporter.

"Jim likes that she's so aggressive, that she's so unapologetic. She almost literally slaps him back into taking stock of his life, and that's something a guy in his position can appreciate," said McKenzie.

As for Penguin and Nygma, recent reports suggest that their bromance will get even stronger in season 3.
