'Gotham' Season 3 Spoilers: Second Season Finale Reveals New Villains To Be Featured In Next Season?

The finale episode of "Gotham" season 2 hinted at the possible villains that may be featured in the next installment of the series.

In "Gotham" season 2 episode 22 titled "Wrath of the Villains: Transference," Dr. Strange released into the world some of the monsters that he created. In season 3, these villains will throw in together to wreak havoc in the entire city.

According to executive producer John Stephens, the next season will feature the adaptation of Mad Hatter, the Tweedle brothers, Talon and Solomon Grundy as some of the new anti-heroes.

A teaser photo for the next installment that was released recently also suggests that Bane will be featured in season 3. Moreover, the laugh heard in the finale of the previous season led to speculations that Joker will also make an appearance in the next season. Despite his death in season 2, fans still hope that he will make a comeback in the show.

In a statement, "Gotham" protagonist Ben McKenzie said that the goal of season 3 is to continue to push the boundaries and prove that Gordon can actually do something worse than just killing Theo Galavan in cold blood.

"Gotham" season 1 featured the Court of Owls as the most formidable organization in the city. In season 2, this organization took over Wayne Enterprises and was portrayed as the prime mischief-maker. Fans have yet to see how the Court of Owls is going to make troubles in season 3.

The next installment of "Gotham" is expected to premiere this fall on FOX.
