'Gotham' Season 3 Spoilers, News: Third Season Introduces New Villains; Old Antagonists Get More Ruthless Than Ever
While its existing antagonists get more callous than they ever were in the series, "Gotham" season 3 is set to introduce new villains, and recent news about the newest additions to its cast makes DC fans even more impatient for the new series.
In the season 2 finale, Fish Mooney unleashed Hugo Strange's army of monsters. This means that season 3 will be packed with new villains, including Mad Hatter.
Talking about the season 2 finale, executive producer John Stephens told Comic Book Resources, "We'll be seeing Mad Hatter in season 3. We'll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we're going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we'll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy."
The Mad Hatter is described as "a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness." According to the press release about his character, the Mad Hatter arrives in Gotham to search for his sister Alice, who went missing in the city years ago.
Meanwhile, actor Drew Powell posted a photo of the script covers for the first two episodes of the series, titled "Better to Reign in Hell" and "Burn the Witch." The photo confirmed that the episodes will be executive produced by John Stephens, written by Ken Woodruff and directed by Danny Cannon.
While the actor has not yet confirmed anything about his return, fans are optimistic that he will return for the upcoming season. Aside from him, Jada Pinkett Smith will also reprise his role as Fish Mooney, who turned out to be alive in season 2. His character was presumed to be dead in season 1, but the previous season revealed that he was only in the care of Hugo Strange at the Indian Hill facility.
